Am I Ready to Travel Abroad?

In order to travel, pets are required to be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies and have the appropriate certificates, but as the requirements can vary from country to country it is best to plan ahead.
Alice, our Pet Travel Nurse, will provide the necessary advice on vaccinations, timescales, certificates and whether parasitic treatments are required prior to travel. Please visit the .Gov Website for further information.
All information is required in advance to prepare your pet’s documentation for travel. When you contact us regarding your pet's travel plans within the EU, we will email you two things prior to scheduling an appointment. Firstly, a link to an online form to complete with both pet and owner details plus travel plans. Secondly, a prepayment link. Once we are in receipt of both of these, we will contact you to arrange the appointment. Non EU travel arrangements will differ, and we will advise accordingly on individual plans.
You require your pet's microchip number and the date of their most recent rabies vaccination. If we've seen your pet before we will have this on your pet's records, ask if needed. The travel certification can only be in one name and this person must attend the appointment with the pet as their signature is required.

Should your pet require veterinary treatment or you wish to seek veterinary advice when we are closed, please call 01789 299455 and you will be diverted to The Willows Veterinary Out Of Hours Team.
We have selected The Willows Veterinary as our Out Of Hours Team because their team has vast experience, expertise and facilities within their 24 hour Hospital.
Also, should your pet be hospitalised with them for treatment they do not have a morning deadline to discharge pets, unlike some other providers in the locality.

Payments can also be taken securely over the telephone.
Payment is due at the time of the consultation or on the collection of your pet.

Waiting Area
During lockdown we introduced outside or in-car waiting and have seen that your pets seem a lot happier than being in a busy waiting room, therefore we are continuing with our outside or in the car waiting areas for the foreseeable future.
We can see everyone arrive and will come and get you when it’s your pet’s appointment.
